Your health record, kept by you
Every result. Every lab. One private record.
Blood results from one lab, a scan report from a hospital, your child's clinic card in a drawer somewhere. Health Vault puts it all in one private place that belongs to you, so the next time a doctor asks "when was this last checked?", you have the answer on your phone.
The demo is a made-up patient. You can look around before giving anyone your ID number.
In range Each value is shown against the range printed on your lab report, in plain English.
What it keeps
One place for the health paperwork of your life
South Africans see many different doctors, clinics and labs, and none of them hold the whole picture. Your vault can.
Pathology results
Upload the PDF or a clear photo of your report from Lancet, Ampath or another lab. Each test, value, unit and reference range is read off the page and saved.
Trends over the years
See your cholesterol, sugar or kidney function charted over time, even when the tests were done at different labs, and download a summary to take to your doctor.
Scans and other tests
X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI reports, ECGs and more, filed by date with the findings and any follow-up date.
Documents
Prescriptions, referral letters, vaccination certificates and photos of the Road to Health booklet, kept safe and easy to find.
Your children's records
Each child gets a record in their own name: growth plotted on WHO growth charts, and their vaccinations tracked against the Road to Health schedule.
Records from your practice
Connect a practice you trust and it can send your documents straight into your vault, so nothing has to be scanned or emailed.
How it works
Three steps, and the vault is yours
No waiting for a lab or practice to sign up. If you have the report, you can keep it.
Step 1
Create your account
Sign up with your South African ID number and email address. It takes a couple of minutes.
Step 2
Add your results
Upload lab reports, scan reports and documents, or add your children's growth and vaccination records.
Step 3
Choose who sees what
Share with a health professional when you want to, and switch it off again whenever you like.
Connecting a practice
Let your practice send records straight to your vault
A practice can never connect to you by itself. You start it, from inside your own vault. TEAM 24/7 is the first practice you can connect.
- Log in to Health Vault and choose Connect a practice.
- You get an 8-character code, like K7QM-3XRP. It works once and lasts 30 minutes.
- Enter the code in the practice's patient portal. At TEAM 24/7 that is the My Health page.
- Your SA ID number must be the same on both accounts, or the connection is refused.
A connected practice can
- Add documents to your vault, such as a consultation record or a medical certificate.
A connected practice can never
- Open, read or download anything in your vault.
- Connect to you without a code that you asked for.
- Keep sending you records once you disconnect. You can disconnect at any time.
Privacy
Your health record, your decision
Health information is some of the most personal information there is. Health Vault is designed and operated in line with POPIA, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act. Read our privacy notice.
You control access
Other doctors see your records only when you share them with that doctor, and you can stop sharing at any time. Our privacy notice explains exactly who can see what.
Sensitive numbers are encrypted
Your ID number and medical aid number are stored encrypted, not as plain text.
You can leave with everything
Download your results as a PDF whenever you like. If you close your account, your records are deleted with it.
Getting started
Start your vault today
You will need your South African ID number and an email address. Children are added from a parent's or guardian's vault.
Please note: sign-up currently works with South African ID numbers only. A passport option is not available yet.
For health professionals
See the history your patient chooses to share
Doctors register with their HPCSA number, and each account is checked and approved before it can be used. You see a patient's results, scans and documents only when that patient shares them with you.
