The number is only half the result. The range is the other half.
Every South African lab report prints a value, a unit and a reference range, then leaves you to work out what it means. Health Vault reads the report you were handed, converts the units, places the value on its range, and keeps it for the rest of your life so you can see which way it is moving.
Slightly below the range for an adult woman. Often iron, sometimes nothing at all — it is worth a conversation, not a panic.
Photograph it. Keep it. Watch it move.
No integration with a lab, no waiting for a practice to send anything. If you can photograph the page, the vault can read it.

Photograph the report
The printed page from the lab, a hospital slip, a screenshot from a portal. Every value, unit and reference range is lifted off it.

Scans and letters too
X-rays, ultrasound and CT reports, specialist letters, discharge summaries. Filed by body region and date, with the finding and the impression kept separate.

A record per child
Each child gets their own record in their own name, with the WHO growth chart and the Road to Health vaccination schedule drawn against it.
Six kinds of record, one timeline.
The counts below are from the demonstration vault on the next tab. A real vault starts empty and fills as you upload.
Blood results
Read off the page, converted to one unit per test so a 2019 result and a 2025 result can sit on the same chart.
Trends
Any test measured more than once becomes a line with its reference range shaded behind it.
Scans and imaging
Modality, body region, the reporting radiologist, findings, impression and any follow-up date.
Documents
Scripts, sick notes, referral letters, discharge summaries, medical aid correspondence.
Children
Growth against WHO percentiles, milestones, and the vaccination schedule with what is due next.
Access you grant
A doctor, a specialist, a spouse. Switch each one on, and switch them off the day you are done.
Built beside a pharmacy, not inside a practice.
Health Vault is part of Kiroshealthcare. It holds your record. It does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and it never replaces the doctor who does.

The two that tell the story
Sugar control has drifted the wrong way while cholesterol has come down. Shaded band is the reference range for each test.
HbA1c Above range
Your average blood sugar over roughly the last three months. One reading is a snapshot; six years of readings is a direction.
Six years of HbA1c
Measured at every collection since March 2019. The band is the laboratory reference range, 4.0 to 5.6 per cent.
Where today's value sits
Your HbA1c is 6.4 per cent. Above 6.5 is the level at which a doctor would usually start talking about diabetes, so this sits just under that line and has been climbing for four years.
The record
Measured with it that day
Tests from the same collection that a doctor usually reads alongside this one.
Every value, on its own range.
The bar in each row is that test's reference range with your value marked on it. The sparkline is every earlier result for the same test.

Sipho Mkhize
18 MONTHS · BOY · OWN RECORD SINCE BIRTH
Weight for age
Sipho's weight against the WHO Child Growth Standards for boys. The shaded band is the 15th to 85th percentile.
Sipho tracked the 50th percentile until his first birthday, then flattened. At 18 months he is on the 25th. A single dip is common after weaning; two in a row is worth mentioning at the next visit.

What Dr Naicker sees
Blood results only, because that is what was granted. The imaging, documents and children's records stay closed.

Health Vault holds records. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Plain-English notes explain what a reference range means; they are not advice, and every reading stays the responsibility of the clinician treating you.
The one page a paramedic can read.
A card for your wallet and your phone. Scanning it shows only what you have ticked — never your whole vault. You are told every time it is scanned, and you can replace the code in one tap.

CARD QK7M-4XVT
Works without your phone, without signal and without anyone logging in — which is the point, because in an emergency your phone may be locked, flat or still in the car.
These are the details a thief wants and a paramedic does not. They stay off unless you decide otherwise.
Every scan is on the record
You get a message each time the card is opened. If one you do not recognise appears, replace the code — the old one stops working immediately.
